A Little Bit
About Katy, (She/Her)

For the last 10 years, Katy has helped folks of all ages navigate various mental illnesses or emotional distresses at inpatient and outpatient levels of care. During this time she has provided individual, family, and group therapy within a psychiatric hospital.

Previously, she spent 2 years during field work facilitating medical needs-based independent support groups and in medical surgical hospital social work.

Katy has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in social work. She is a licensed clinical social worker and board-approved supervisor.

Katy believes that People often operate from the basis of their story: what has happened in their lives and what they know and feel. Katy will help you understand your collection of experiences of thoughts and feelings in order to assist you in reaching goals, and essentially, to get where you want to go. She will do her best to understand you, and is willing to laugh or cry with you.

Katy works through somewhat of a relational model and will be willing to hold the space with you, and talk through difficult thoughts and feelings, help you challenge your thinking when necessary with respect and positive regard. Katy provides education about mental health, and other human issues that may help you evolve your process and get “un-stuck”.

To work with Katy is to be moving toward healing, growth, and evolution, in order that the change you are seeking may take place.

Katy's greatest passion is people. She has helped many people face many things, most of which lead to positive outcomes. You can trust her to do her best by you and beside you.
